Tissue Morpho & Mechanics Lab• Contribute to the development of a device that models the uniaxial stretching of developing embryonic tissue during the process of convergent extension (CE) in order to investigate the mechanisms that direct cell movement.• Use Finite Element Analysis on Ansys to test out designs of the device that will allow for strain to be concentrated at a specific point on a tissue sample.• Develop SolidWorks models and facilitate the 3d-printing of intricate mechanical components that operate efficiently on the small tissue scale.
