About Heather Mitchell

I am a seasoned litigator with extensive experience representing businesses in complex commercial litigation, including trust and estate litigation, contract disputes, education law, internal corporate investigations and matters arising under the federal securities laws. I assist individuals and businesses to resolve disputes, whether personal or professional, in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Whether that means resolving a disagreement before litigation arises, or taking the fight to a jury verdict, I provide counsel and expertise at every step. I am an effective communicator who ensures that my clients’ needs are understood and effectuated.I has successfully tried cases before juries and judges to verdict. I served as a law clerk to Judge Benson E. Legg, Retired, of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and regularly practices in that Court. I has also represented clients in matters in the Maryland state courts, as well as federal courts in Florida, Pennsylvania, and California. I am a life-long Marylander with ties throughout Maryland’s state and local governments. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Baltimore Curriculum Project, a non-profit that runs charter schools in Baltimore City, on the Board of Directors of CASA of Baltimore County, an organization that recruits and trains court appointed volunteers who advocate for the wellbeing of children in the foster care system and on the Board of Maryland Humanities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring lifelong learning in the humanities
