ABOUT HEATHER MCKIERNAN

I bring a diverse professional background that bridges hands-on technical experience, people leadership, and business operations.I began my career as an Internal Corrosion Technologist in the Energy Sector, spending over seven years in the field sampling, interviewing operators, and supporting pipeline integrity programs. That time gave me practical, frontline experience and the chance to work closely with people across all levels of operations. It also took me abroad—including work travel to India and throughout Alberta—where I gained valuable cross-cultural and industry insights.From there, I transitioned into management and operations at a law firm, where I advanced through roles supporting Administration, Client Solutions, Records & Information, Client Care Specialists, and Case Management. Leading and growing these teams honed my ability to manage people, processes, and organizational change.Today, I work in Business Operations, where I support ERP implementations (with a focus on Odoo), manage contracts and retainers, oversee invoicing and AR/AP, and ensure projects are well-structured from both a client and operational perspective. My career has also touched recruitment and HR management, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how people and processes intersect to drive business success.Colleagues and clients know me as approachable, organized, and pragmatic. Whether I’m streamlining internal processes, supporting project delivery, or building strong client relationships, I aim to bridge the gap between technical teams, business goals, and the people we serve.
