ABOUT HEATHER M.
With an undergraduate degree in journalism, I gained significant experience of writing, managing a content schedule and engaging an audience at BBC Magazines. After a career break, during which I gained a masters degree in Social and Cultural Theory, I moved into marketing in 2019. As Content Manager for Hydrock (acquired by Stantec in 2024), I refined my ability to engage diverse audiences with well-written content, developing an in-depth knowledge of the built environment along the way. In this role, I took technical information from building and place-making projects and made it easier to digest, using my excellent writing skills to create a range of content, including- press releases- blog posts- news stories- email campaigns- case studies- award entries- and, of course, social media posts. As of July 2025, I\'m delighted to be putting my skills to good use for Distinctive Communications, in my new role as Content and PR Executive.
