About Heather Kesner

Heather Kesner brings nearly 30 years of financial services experience to her role as Head of Small Business Banking at U.S. Bank. She is responsible for leading the segment that serves the specialized and evolving needs of small business customers. Kesner oversees a team of 650 small business banking specialists based in the U.S. Bank footprint as well as a national sales team that works with clients remotely. Kesner and her team provide the support needed for companies with annual sales between and $2.5 million. Prior to her role as Head of Small Business Banking, Kesner served as the East Region Branch and Small Business Executive at U.S. Bank. Her coverage in the East included over 475 branches and thousands of small business clients across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and North Carolina. Heather joined U.S. Bank in April 2019 as the Consumer and Business Banking Market Leader for San Francisco Bay. In that role, she led a team of District and Business Banking leaders responsible for growing the market share in branch and business banking across San Francisco and San Jose.Prior to joining U.S. Bank, she was the managing director of the retail network, and sales and service strategy at Santander Bank. While there, she led the sales and service transformation of the bank’s 640 U.S. branches to create a culture that was focused on building relationships with customers through collaboration across business lines. She also spent 16 years with J.P Morgan Chase, where she started in their management trainee program and advanced her career, serving in several roles, including Consumer Market Manager and Managing Director of Customer Experience for Consumer Banking and Chase Wealth Management. Heather was recognized as part of the American Banker Most Powerful Women in banking team award for U.S. Bank in 2025, named one of the Women We Admire for 2025 in North Carolina, and a Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times in 2020. She serves as a board member of the United Way of Greater Charlotte and UStrive. She is an active volunteer and has been a board member for JVS- San Francisco, Junior Achievement, the American Cancer Society and has volunteered with Carry the Load, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, and has been a troop leader for Girl Scouts of America.
