My practice focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on employment matters and class action litigation. Employment matters include the defense of discrimination claims (Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment), as well as wage and hour matters under Illinois and Federal law. I have been involved in the litigation of business disputes, including the enforcement of restrictive covenants, contract law, securities law, real estate litigation, and defending breach of fiduciary duty claims against corporate officers and directors. I have represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, in arbitration and mediations. I have also appeared on countless occasions before various administrative agencies, including the EEOC, IDHR, and City Commission on Human Relations. I also routinely consult with clients on employment matters, such as employee discipline, terminations, severance agreements, and employment policies (including the review of employee handbooks). My class action defense work includes the defense of the use of pre-hire physical abilities tests, as well as the constitutionality of municipal impoundment and inventorying policies.
