About Heather Davis
Named the executive director of Student Engagement and Leadership at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) effective Feb. The Department of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) serves as the primary facilitator of programs and activities for all students on the NCCU campus. As the focal point of student involvement and campus life, the department’s primary goal is to provide a student-centered environment enhancing student learning, development, and academic success through events, programs and services.Davis is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing programs and services offered to students. She directs and oversees all operations of the Alfonso Elder Student Union, including facility use and construction of the new Student Center, set to open in Fall 2021. Previously, Davis served as the assistant dean of Campus Life at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). In her role, she managed a $1.9 million budget. In addition, she provided oversight to the Student Center, Leadership & Service, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Government Association, Royal Court, Multicultural Affairs, Campus Activities Board, and various other clubs and organizations. While at WSSU, she held positions as the director of Student Activities and assistant director of the Thompson Center. During her time on campus, she assisted with the implementation of a First-Year Experience Programs focusing on the academic, social, mental, and physical wellbeing of all first-year students on campus. Ms. Davis has also held positions at Ford Motor Company, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Penske and Think Detroit PAL. Davis is a double graduate of WSSU, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, as well as an MBA in Management. She is a member of the National Association for Campus Activities and the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals.
