About Heather Chapman
Currently hold the position of Detention Manager at Ada County Juvenile Services. I have a passion for guiding and helping youth of our county make changes. Change the trajectory for their future selves. It’s all about connections and choices. As a Probation Services Supervisor at Ada County, Idaho, I have been serving the community for over 25 years. I am responsible for overseeing the daily operations of my probation team, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing guidance to Probation Officers.I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Boise State University and a certification in CPR from the American Red Cross. I also teach general topics at Idaho POST Academy and Lead E.P.IC.S (Effective Practices in Community Supervision) Instructor. I am skilled in customer service, public speaking, and leadership.Enjoy coaching and development and currently carry a caseload as a Supervisor. Enjoy researching best practices and evidence based initiatives in the Juvenile Justice field. Currently working with our team on graduated responses and incentives working with our youth.

I am deeply humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Detention Division Manager of Ada County Juvenile Detention. My career began in 1997 as a part-time, on-call employee, followed by a full-time night position in I rapidly progressed through the ranks and subsequently transitioned to probation, where I continued to work with the youth of our community. My foundation in detention provided invaluable insight into the needs of at-risk youth in the Treasure Valley. Having a background in both detention and probation, combined with supervisory experience, has been instrumental in my work with this population and in guiding the Officers who tirelessly strive for positive outcomes. I have immense appreciation for both divisions and am eager to utilize my training to lead exceptional Officers and support staff at our local detention center.
