About Heather Callaway

I have been in the technology industry since September 1997 and have honestly loved it ever since. I started during the technology retrofit era when schools were ripping out Cat3 and Token Ring (yes, Token Ring). I blinked my eye during Cat4 (not the hurricane strength, even though I was in the Panhandle). I saw the convergence of voice and data and Owner\'s deciding not to have a separate cable/jack for each. While designing telcom systems, the natural progression was to start designing other low-voltage systems, so security, paging, intercom, television, and audio-visual system designs sneaked into the portfolio. It has been interesting to see the systems migrating to utilize the same cable type for transmitting signals. Beyond the design and construction, I enjoy working with clients, engineers, architects, contractors, and owners. Above all, I am a huge supporter of certifications. I have my RCDD and am dual certified with a CTS-D and CTS-I. I encourage my colleagues to progress and receive their certs as well. I have served as a volunteer on AVIXA\'s Certification Committee in representing the CTS-Ds as well as volunteer as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). I currently volunteer on BICSI’s Registration & Credentials Supervision Committee (RCSC) and serve as the Vice-Chair and a SME on various projects, as needed.
