ABOUT HEATH PARKER

Dr. Heath Parker currently serves as Dean of the Auburn-VCOM campus of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn Alabama. He served previously as Associate Dean of Clinical Medicine and Chief Administrative Officer of the Knoxville campus for DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Parker also served as Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences, Associate Professor and Chair of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has served appointments with The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA) editorial board and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners for item review and as National Faculty. Dr. Parker received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northwest Missouri State University where he attended under a full athletic scholarship. He received his D.O. degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio-sciences and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Scott & White Hospital-Texas A&M University Health Science Center where he was appointed Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor. Dr. Parker is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Previous academic positions held include Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine where he served as the founding Chair of Pediatrics. Dr. Parker also represents an extensive and diverse clinical leadership background in emergency medicine, adult & pediatric hospital medicine, primary care and advanced wound care. He has been the medical director for multiple emergency departments, primary care clinics and hospitalist programs including Director of Hospital Clinical Operations for a multi-specialty facility and CMO for an integrative care organization. Most recently Dr. Parker served as Regional Medical Director for American Physician Partners. Currently, Dr. Parker is excited about opportunities to give back to the profession using his wealth of experience to train and support the physician of tomorrow.
