ABOUT HELEN D.

Helen is a queer feminist working to build health systems that work for women and girls everywhere. COO at Operation Fistula (OpF), she is on a mission to end obstetric fistula for every woman, everywhere. Using innovative financing of grassroots operatives and data-driven quality case management, OpF helps identify trends that can reduce risk of maternal death and build local capacity within health systems. In 2024, Helen co-created \'The Sidebar,\' and founded \'The Rainbow Road\'. The Sidebar creates accessible networks for meaningful engagement across the global development ecosystem. The Rainbow Road exists to enable safe, celebratory spaces and solutions for LGBTQIA+ international development professionals. For more than a decade, Helen has been devoted to maximizing the potential of social impact organizations that provide access points and services to those who have been neglected, un-served, or left out. She’s happiest when she is scaling ideas, solving problems, connecting communities, and driving impact.Helen has a BA from Cambridge and an MA from Yale - both in Theology and Philosophy - so, if you like exploring big questions, she’s ready to sit and reflect, debate and discuss. Coupled with her passion for ideation is a fundamentally operational mindset that wants to get stuff done and make a tangible impact.Objective: To utilise my unique and diverse skills and abilities to bring success and new opportunities to mission-driven organisations; to lift the energy and enthusiasm of teams, by raising aspirations, executing vision-statements into strategy, and delivering strong outcomes; to lead and challenge organisations to obtain a greater degree of connectedness and cohesion with their internal and external stakeholders through engagement, outreach, and access.
