ABOUT HAZEL BURTON
I have over 15 years of multi media content creation experience, and I specialise in the cybersecurity and threat intelligence industry. I started my career in small businesses, before moving to Cisco in 2016 where I\'ve grown my career from a UK specific role to now leading content development globally (blogs, videos, documentaries, podcasts, reports) at Cisco Talos.I love coming up with stories, ideas and formats that truly resonate and inspire the audience to take positive action. Putting the audience at the heart of everything has helped me to become a confident narrative storyteller, and I care deeply about releasing the most accurate, clear and helpful content. A big part of my life is improvisational comedy. I participate in weekly workshops at Boho Arts, a charity of which I’m also a trustee. I perform on stage with my fellow workshop attendees every month. I’m also a member of the professional improv troupe “Spontaneous Wrecks” and have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe. Contrary to popular belief, improv isn\'t about being funny or clever on the spot for the sake of entertaining your audience. It’s about supporting your fellow improviser, offering them ideas, and having the faith that they’re doing the same for you. As well as not being afraid of failure and making big choices - I take a very similar attitude to my working life too!
