About Hayley Shannon
Hayley believes that the arts allow us to connect authentically to ourselves and others in ways that no other medium can. She uses dance as a vessel for positive social change through artistry, teaching and community organizing. Hayley collaborates with people from many disciplines/backgrounds on a like-minded mission of social justice, expression and healing. Hayley wants to bring the inherently healing elements of dance to all people. She is a certified brain-compatible dance educator through the Creative Dance Center. Her work is highly informed by her time studying dance/movement therapy in Greece and teaching youth in Panama as a cultural diplomat for MovementExchange. She coordinates community outreach programming + grant writing for Spectrum Dance Theater and The Three Yells Performance Company, in an effort to make dance accessible to people from all backgrounds, identities and economic means.
