ABOUT HAYLEY GRYC
I am an Associate Director at Arup leading our work in Buildings and Social Infrastructure in Emerging Markets. I am an International Development Consultant and chartered civil engineer with over 15 years’ experience delivering a wide range of buildings across Africa, South and South-East Asia and Small Island Developing States in the Caribbean and Pacific. This has included designing and evaluating buildings, and providing strategic and technical advice to partners on improving construction environments to increase resilience and reduce vulnerability of communities. I have led the development of building regulatory documents, guidelines and manuals, to improve building infrastructure quality and led large-scale critical building infrastructure and disaster risk reduction programmes. I also have specific expertise working in the education sector and specialises in the delivery of safer, resilient and sustainable educational facilities.
