I lead Commercial Visitor Development and Recreation, which generates a growing £29m of income through visitor centres and revenue from leisure business activities. I am also responsible for c. £30m of expenditure programmes and co-ordination of the organisation wide c. £10-15m investment programme. I co-chair the National Operations team, stimulating integrated and cross functional working and as Executive Team member set strategic direction for organisational delivery.Forestry England is the largest provider of outdoor recreation in England. Delivered across the hectares of the nation\'s forests, the largest single landholding in the country, of which some ha is designated as and ha is ancient woodland. The nation\'s forests comprise over 1500 separate properties including some of the finest woodlands, forests and open land in England, a wide range of housing and commercial property and a variety of recreation businesses. My Commercial Visitor Development portfolio encompasses Forestry England\'s commercial and public benefit visitor management operations across open access forest management, visitor centres and internationally significant arboreta, Westonbirt - The National Arboretum and Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest - the world\'s largest collection of conifers. It also includes major public engagement programmes such as \'Forest Live\' outdoor live music programme,\'Active Forests\' promoting outdoor health and wellbeing activities, volunteering and community engagement, national agreements and partnerships, overnight stays offerings, customer relations, masterplanning and landscape architecture and organisation wide investment programme, external fundraising and project management office.
