Strategic leader of a high performing team of thirty-two. Driven to deliver services, events, facilities, and amenities, on behalf of circa thirty thousand residents. Advising a full cohort of fifteen parish councillors, maintained via elections or when appropriate effective co-option process. Thus enabling the election of a mayor and deputy mayor. Reviewing, adapting, and evolving the delegated authority, member size, and frequency of committees and meetings, in addition to Full Council. Legislation and policy is adhered to for all committees and meetings, including the election of Chairman and Deputy chairman. Manage a precept of £1.5 million. Review and ongoing development of the organisational structure, to ensure that it is fit for the year ahead, but able to develop, adapt and respond, to the changing needs and wants of our residents and the objectives set by our councillors, in both the medium and long term strategic plans. Recruitment that identifies the skills, knowledge, and experience in new team members, that will ensure the whole team is stronger, more capable, effective, and efficient. Leading to improved productivity, reduced absence and the step change in culture that is required to shape a high performing team. Retention of key team members that are the right person, with the right person specification, fit for the organisation now and as it moves from good to great, is at the heart of all internal people decisions. Managing churn to ensure the team, the organisation, and our output for the community we serve only improves. Learning and development is bespoke to the individual team member, the role they do now, and the role they are developing towards. Mandatory training is delivered, with the focus on making the team stronger and more capable, not just a tick box exercise.
