ABOUT HAYES MORRISON
Hayes Morrison was appointed Undersecretary of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in November of 2023. In this role, she oversees five MassDOT divisions – the Office of Transportation Planning (OTP), the Office of Performance Management and Innovation (OPMI), the Office of Strategy, Implementation, and Efficiency, Audit and Compliance, and the Lab@MassDOT. Hayes previously served as MassDOT’s Chief of Staff and as Assistant Secretary for Policy & Strategy, collaborating with members of the Governor’s Cabinet to achieve ambitious climate and resilience strategies, including planning the infrastructure necessary to implement Electric Vehicle (EV) charging across the Commonwealth. Prior to her time at MassDOT, Undersecretary Morrison served in leadership roles at the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), the City of Somerville, and the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization. Hayes has served on various boards and commissions, including the Metropolitan Area Planning Council Executive Committee, Auburn University’s Geosciences Advisory Board, and the Seaport Transportation Management Association (TMA). Hayes holds a Bachelor in Earth Science from Auburn University and a Master of City & Regional Planning from Clemson University and lives in East Boston.
