About Hayden Tse

Mr. Tse is currently serving as a Resident Engineer and Resident Project Representative for CDM Smith Inc. He has experience overseeing the resident engineering and inspection work, planning, coordination and implementation of construction projects, ensuring compliance to design documents, and analyzing cost estimates and change orders. He is responsible for reviewing submittals of shop drawings with Designers and the Project Manager, and responding to RFIs from Contractors. He performs survey work on construction site, maintains daily inspection reports for construction activities, and reviews monthly contractor work quantities and pay estimates. Mr. Tse is also responsible for the preparation of As-Built drawings in AutoCAD that included all field adjustments. For any descoped work on jobs, Mr. Tse performs an engineering estimate to get partial credit on the contract from the general contractor. Before joining CDM Smith Inc, Mr. Tse was a Project Control Intern in the Program Management Division of the New York City Department of Design and Construction. Here, Mr. Tse assisted the Project Controls Unit with project management work including planning and managing project cost and project schedules. Mr. Tse also worked as a Research Assistant in the Environmental Biotechnology and Bioenergy Laboratory at Virginia Tech. Mr. Tse researched and published a paper on the development of an algal-membrane bioreactor as a post-treatment for microbial fuel cells treating municipal wastewater, including power-up, cost reduction, and practical application. This paper was published in the journal Bioprocess and BioSystems Engineering.
