Project Manager @Embedded Systems Purdue

View department →

West Lafayette, IN, US

At the start of this semester, I joined Embedded Systems\' very own BB8 project team. With my experience in design and manufacturing, I was elected as the Mechanical Sub-Team lead. Throughout the semester, the team has been making parts, refining CAD designs, fabricating gears, and doing what engineers love to do (make something cool!). Looking onward to next semester, I will be taking over the Project Manager role, where I will oversee the whole BB8 team, recruit new members, ensure the fluid communication between sub-teams, and inspire the completion of our movie-accurate Star Wars Droid!

ABOUT HAYDEN LOGAN

I’m currently a Senior at Purdue University, pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business Economics. Graduating in May 2026, I am actively seeking a full-time mechanical engineering position in the field of manufacturing, process improvement, R&D, or lean manufacturing / continuous improvement.During my time in industry, I have had valuable experiences in continuous improvement efforts, large and small-scale manufacturing, kaizen events, design, working with suppliers, and have managed projects with cross-functional teams. Spending 2 summers in San Diego with QuidelOrtho and 1 summer in Portland with Thermo Fisher Scientific, I’ve gained valuable experience and am excited to apply myself in a full-time role. My time at Purdue has been nothing short of amazing. Countless of hands-on projects, such as the Controls II robot project (finished 2nd place in the course), Senior Design Capstone (active Project Manager), and working with Embedded Systems on the BB8 project to name a few have helped me become the engineer I am today. Motivated to inspire the underclassmen at Purdue, I’ve worked as a Mechanical Engineering mentor to help me share my experiences to younger students. Some of my favorite experiences at Purdue have been the students organizations I’m heavily involved in such as ASME, Embedded Systems, and Purdue Ski Club! Some of my hobbies include piano (18 year player), 3D printing (recently got my own printer!), soccer, hiking, golf, and any other outdoor activity!
