I have worked for a long time on public policy, technology and regulatory economics issues between government and the private sector. I have much experience in the telecommunications and technology industries and in labour markets. I originally trained in law.I am very interested in the social and economic consequences of technology and open data. From 2015 to 2018 I worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Figure.NZ, a charity that works to make data about New Zealand easily and freely available to everyone. And between 2014 and 2017 I served on the board of InternetNZ, the charity that runs the.nz domain name.I am also keen on labour market economics, and have worked on immigration issues and the future of work in particular in recent years.
