Q is a quantum technology start-up that utilises its unique combination of scientific and entrepreneurial know-how to deliver future-proof encryption—that is encryption against adversaries with unlimited resources, including tomorrow’s powerful quantum computers. Specifically, we are able to deliver a 10x improvement on the performance of quantum key distribution (QKD) hardware, by means of a firmware update. Our technology, of which I am the lead designer, is patent-pending, and is in the process of being tested for satellite by a consortium of world-leading partners. We are looking to sell licences to hardware manufacturers and global telecom companies.
