ABOUT HASINA SHAIN DAYA
I am a programme and policy leader committed to advancing equity and social mobility for vulnerable communities. My work focuses on supporting people through crisis, displacement and instability, while strengthening systems that reduce inequality and expand opportunity.I have spent my career working across the public, multilateral and non-profit sectors, leading programmes that respond to humanitarian crises, support displaced and marginalised communities, and strengthen social protection systems. I specialise in shaping strategy, designing and delivering complex programmes, and bringing together diverse stakeholders to translate policy ambition into practical impact. My experience spans government, international development and humanitarian response, including roles with the UK government and global development organisations. I have led crisis response efforts, developed strategic communications and policy approaches, overseen multi-partner programmes, and secured and managed donor funding from major bilateral and multilateral institutions.Throughout my work, I focus on building partnerships, strengthening institutions, and creating sustainable pathways out of vulnerability and poverty. I believe lasting change happens when programmes are rooted in local realities, empower communities, and address the structural drivers of inequality.I have worked across diverse geographic and cultural contexts including Uganda, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Kenya, Tajikistan, India, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Switzerland, France and Canada. These experiences have shaped my ability to navigate complex environments and collaborate across cultures.I am HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) certified and experienced in operating in crisis and fragile contexts.
