About Hasan Sadeghifar

PhD in Pulp and Paper Engineering and MBA in Environmental Management, with over 25 years of experience in biomass, biopolymers, natural products, and the broader pulp and paper industry. My career integrates deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, consistently focused on advancing sustainable materials and processes.After five years working in industry and academia in my home country, Iran, I continued my professional journey with five years of postdoctoral research and adjunct teaching at North Carolina State University, USA, where I specialized in biomass chemistry and contributed to more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific journal publications.My industrial career includes developing bio-based hydrogels from starch via reactive extrusion, pioneering next-generation filter media technologies, and creating eco-friendly resins and coatings. Currently, as a Senior R&D Manager, I have led the development of a PFAS-free fiber molding process—an important milestone in sustainable packaging innovation.In parallel with my industrial work, I have remained highly active in the scientific community, contributing to more than 70 publications including journal articles, book chapters, and numerous conference presentations. These efforts reflect my commitment not only to technological advancement but also to knowledge sharing and collaboration across academia and industry.Looking ahead, my vision is to continue driving innovation at the intersection of science and sustainability—delivering solutions that reduce environmental impact, create economic value, and inspire the next generation of researchers and leaders.
