ABOUT HASAN ASHRAF
Software Engineer with a background in Scientific Computing, interested in Systems Programming, Compilers, Distributed Systems and more. I am a fan of solving problems, teaching, and often in hindsight, debugging bugs in production. I quite enjoy modern C++ and I have been having fun learning Rust.I was previously a PhD candidate associated with the Scientific Computing chair at the Technical University of Munich. I ultimately decided to leave my PhD program quite early, but this experience taught me a lot about how to explore problem spaces that I am unfamiliar with. I’m currently working in the area of Process Mining at Celonis, designing new algorithms and implementing preexisting ones from academia. I also contribute to a custom in-house analytical database engine specialized for process mining, implementing native process mining operators and optimizing their performance.
