ABOUT HARVEEN KAUR
I am currently working as the Program Manager and Business Support at The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound, where I manage the Newcomer Entrepreneurship Program which is launched in partnership between The City of North Bay and The Business Centre. My role includes program development, scheduling, marketing, outreach, client onboarding, workshop facilitation, and reporting. Connecting participants with essential resources, including funding opportunities, mentorship, networking events and support they need to succeed in their entrepreneurial ventures. Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Newcomer Entrepreneurship Program to ensure it meets the needs of our participants. Building strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders to create a supportive ecosystem for newcomer entrepreneurs.As a Student Governor at Canadore College, I represented the student body and the college community. I collaborated with the Board of Governors to ensure the strategic direction, vision, and mission of the college were aligned with the values and goals of the students.In addition to my governance role, I worked as a Community Connector for the Village Collective Impact Project, a collaborative and intergenerational initiative that aimed to promote wellness, learning, and social inclusion among the college and the community. I planned and coordinated the Learning to Live Fit Speaker Series, where I handled event management, leadership, and participation. I also facilitated communication, engagement, and partnership among the diverse stakeholders, including community organizations.Furthermore, I served as a Residence Advisor for Canadore Residence, where I provided customer service and support to the residents, as well as organized and participated in various events and activities that promoted social and academic integration. Through these experiences, I developed and demonstrated core competencies. Serving as a leader, community builder, role model, and resource to residents.
