ABOUT HARSHVARDHAN VARADARAJAN
I currently work on assessing Climate and credit risk for transactions and projects across O&G, Shipping, Real Estate and the Power sector to support the energy transition. One of my key objectives is to integrate ESG into the overall credit and investment process by enhancing due diligence and financial modelling of climate risk while assessing credit. I also partner with various deal teams to provide risk advisory and portfolio management recommendations to support the bank\'s ambition of transitioning to a low-carbon financed emission portfolio and to meet our Net Zero targets. Before taking on this role, I spent c.8.5 years predominalty across Credit analysis/risk roles for investment grade and sub-investment grade corporates across emerging and developed markets (covering India, UK, EU, Turkey).I hold an MBA in Finance from IIM, Indore and a Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering from NIT,Trichy. Before my MBA, I worked as a software engineer for c.1.5 years. In 2012, I was awarded the Aditya Birla Scholarship, one of the 14 students across India who received the prestigious scholarship.
