I had the privilege of growing up in the midst of nature, on a beautiful mountain top in the Himalayas. In the 6 years that I spent there, I fell in love with the beautiful planet that we live in. When, in adulthood I realised that we are slowly destroying this planet, I found a sense of purpose in life that has dictated my whole journey since then. At the age of 20, I discovered something marvellous - you could install a solar plant on your roof without paying a single Rupee for it. You would save money (and more importantly the environment) from day 1 and you could pay for these plants with a portion of this saving. This was music to my ears. Climate change could finally be solved. In the next few years, while still in college, I started selling solar. I would visit schools, colleges, industries, hotels, basically anyone who had a large energy consumption and try to sell them solar. In the next 3 years, I interacted with over different potential adopters and realised something strange - people did not perceive the pot of gold as gold. Interestingly, 90% of the people who want to buy a solar plant, do not end up buying it. 67% of all the solar plants installed in India, do not pass basic quality checks. This prompted me to look at the problem a little differently. I realised that everyone who will buy a solar plant in the 21st century, has never bought one before. SafEarth is building the tools that they will need to buy the right solar plant for their needs, get it installed perfectly and have the systems in place to operate it for the next 25 years to generate maximum returns. Today, SafEarth is India\'s largest online platform for the adoption of renewable energy. Our platform has now facilitated the installation of nearly 120MWs of solar power. That is equivalent to the power consumed by nearly Homes or nearly 2 Million trees growing for 10 years. We are today saving over tonnes of carbon emissions per year. We are just getting started. SafEarth is on a mission to make solar power easy, efficient and hassle free for users around the world. We have set ourselves the target of reducing 1 Billion Tonnes of carbon emissions per year by 2030. It is an audacious challenge, we know, but some challenges are important enough that we pursue them, howsoever hard they may be. Saving the planet, is on the top of that list.
