ABOUT HARSHIT KUMAR SANDHU

I am a passionate Researcher, Educator, and Engineer driven by the pursuit of knowledge and its application to solve complex problems across diverse domains. My greatest motivation comes from continuous learning and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to academia and industry. Currently, I am a PhD Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, where I investigate Wave Propagation in Active Phononic Crystals and Metamaterials. My research focuses on understanding and manipulating elastic/acoustic waves in engineered materials, with potential applications in vibration control, noise reduction, and next-generation wave-based technologies. Prior to my PhD, I worked as an Educator at THE GATE ACADEMY, where I: Taught and mentored engineering students preparing for the GATE Examination across multiple states in India. Developed high-quality study materials and innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning. Contributed to Project improving engineering education in state colleges by training students for competitive exams. Key Strengths Research & Innovation: Expertise in wave dynamics, phononic crystals, and metamaterials with a strong foundation in computational and experimental mechanics. Teaching & Mentorship: Proven ability to simplify complex concepts and inspire students/researchers. Problem-Solving: Bridging theoretical knowledge with practical engineering solutions. I am always eager to collaborate on research, academic, or industry projects related to wave mechanics, smart materials, and structural dynamics. Let’s connect and explore opportunities to create an impact!
