ABOUT HARSHIL PATEL
An experienced full-stack engineer working with different technologies over the years.I started my professional journey as a developer with a cloud-based strategic unit of TCS (iON) focusing on small and medium businesses, educational institutions, and examination boards. As part of the assessment (education) team, I was able to contribute towards the digitization of the various prestigious examinations conducted across India using the bundle of software solutions that we built. Initially, the flagship project was conducting online exams for just candidates a day. It quickly scaled up to more than 600 thousand candidates in a single day across ~700 centers. At a later stage, I was able to take ownership of a few products and led a team of very energetic people to deliver several high-quality software solutions while improving the overall performance as well as security.Later, I started working as a full-stack engineer for one of Japan\'s leading e-commerce company at the client location (Rakuten). Even though I didn\'t have any experience with most of the technologies, I was able to grasp them quickly and started contributing effectively. There were some significant differences from my previous role where I was more of a team lead, and here an individual contributor. My previous work consisted of developing and managing a bundle of solutions in a monolithic architecture following the waterfall model, here I had to adapt to the micro-services architecture in a fast-paced agile environment. Such diversity in my work experience has given me a broader perspective of the way how different processes work and helps me to figure out what works best in a particular situation. I also had opportunities to work with people from diverse backgrounds which helped me to groom my interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.Technical Expertise: Node.js, AngularJS, Java/Spring, Spring Boot, API Gateway (Kong), Cassandra (Datastax Certified), MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Pub Sub, Firebase, ELK Stack, InfluxDBAlways eager to try my hands on new technologies and keep a strong focus on improving the products/services that I work on.
