About Harshavardhan Reddy Gajarla
I’m a Robotics & Machine Learning Software Engineer who turns algorithms into hardware that makes life better. At the University of Washington, I’m advancing shared autonomy for power wheelchairs and precision control manipulation for surgical robots.My path began at NIT Rourkela, where my honors thesis produced a semi humanoid therapeutic robot that uses real time facial emotion recognition in ROS to coach social skills for children on the autism spectrum. I later delivered ML driven payload deployment tools at ISRO and hardened guidance links at DRDO. I’m especially interested in blending model based control with reinforcement learning, giving robots the agility to operate in uncertain environments. I love working at the crossroads of research and engineering, building robust, intelligent algorithms that extend robot capability.
