Dr. Harshal Shukla is Clinical Pharmacy Manager for Surgical Services and Anesthesiology at Montefiore Medical Center, where he leads initiatives to optimize perioperative medication use, strengthen controlled substance stewardship, and advance patient safety across the health system. He also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, combining clinical expertise with the education and mentorship of future health care professionals.Over more than a decade at Montefiore, Dr. Shukla has spearheaded system-wide projects to improve medication safety, reduce surgical and anesthetic drug costs, and enhance perioperative workflows. He has co-chaired the Surgery Anesthesia Council for Montefiore’s System P&T Committee, served as PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator, and mentored pharmacy students and residents in clinical and leadership development.Beyond Montefiore, Dr. Shukla plays an active role in professional leadership through the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Council on Public Policy and the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP).
