ABOUT HARSHAD SOLANKI

With a career spanning over 25 years, I have developed and implemented processes for Process Safety Management and Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems across various industries. My expertise extends to Chemicals, Petrochemicals, LNG regassification and Natural gas distribution, Food manufacturing, and Pharmaceutical vaccine manufacturing, including eight years of process engineering experience with inorganic chemicals manufacturing. As a change agent, I review process designs and manage changes to minimize risk, ensuring improved safety function systems and overall PSM programs. • Commissioning of more than 200 km polyethylene and 32 km of steel natural gas pipeline network, 250+ industrial customers natural gas metering stations, CNG stations, 5 MMTPA Kochi LNG regasification terminal, LNG road tanker filling station, and India’s first LNG ship bunkering• Pre-start safety review (PSR) for LNG road tanker loading facility, LNG terminal, CNG stations, Natural Gas pipeline networks, and chlorine dosing system for a municipal water treatment facility• Prepared a contingency plan for transportation of LNG by road tanker in Kerala, India• Occupational hygiene projects, including noise surveys, asbestos abatements, lead abatement, mould assessment and abatements, indoor air quality assessments• Implemented various customize e-tools for HSE, including “Suraksha Setu” - BBS observations and incident management, e-work permit-SAP, e-compliance- Legal register• Developed a robust Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, customized monthly HSE Index audit with CCPS PSM guidelines• Facilitated and participated in various HAZOPs, MOCs, and risk assessment including LNG bunker facility, LNG terminal operations at lower nameplate capacity, Boiled Off Gas (BOG) compressor operations, new natural gas CGD networks, ammonia reactor modification• Improved emergency preparedness by adding 100+ isolation valves in polyethylene pipeline network of natural gas • Established Emergency Management System and conducted more than ten unannounced mock drills of level-1 and level-2 for the natural gas city gas distribution networks • Led various mutual aid groups, and participated as an external expert in emergency drills conducted by the Ministry of Labour and district administration• Assisted and participated in controlling emergencies, including laboratory fire, ammonia tanker leakage (off-site), natural gas pipeline leakages and fires, • Audited an LNG terminal in Gujarat, as a HSE expert in the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) audit team.
