Software Engineer @Velmeni
US
1) Developed and deployed a Windows-native, multithreaded imaging sync service (PUB/SUB) across 15+ clinics, automating cloud uploads every 30 seconds for high-volume dental imaging workflows.2) Optimized performance by reducing memory usage 80% with a fixed-size min-heap approach vs full-directory scans, maintaining <3s upload latency and 99.9% uptime with auto-restart watchdogs and remote logging.3) Designed scalable ingestion modes — Just-in-Time (50–70 files/min) for active cases and Historic (TB-scale) for archives — using throttled memory strategies and bounded queues.4) Integrated AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, SQS) into a fully HIPAA-compliant pipeline, handling 100K+ imaging files/month securely and reliably.5) Delivered 500+ AI-generated DICOM reports/month by integrating diagnostic AI APIs with PACS servers via DICOM SCP/SCU protocols- Built a custom PDF processing system for metadata reattachment, resizing, and patient-specific formatting to ensure accuracy in AI reports.6) Designed and implemented a voice-controlled Perio Charting UI in React, reducing clinician data entry time by 60% while achieving <200ms latency for real-time interactions.

ABOUT HARSHAA HIREMAGALUR NARAYAN
One of my first memories of Computer Science was when I wrote a program in C to generate a pattern of asterixes in the shape of a triangle. I remember how much fun I had generating triangles of different sizes. It was great! Ever since then I\'ve been hooked onto coding. In my undergrad, I studied a variety of courses and got a taste of different fields in the space of Computer Science. I enjoyed my programming classes, especially the web development class, which made me feel like an artist creating a masterpiece. I also did a few internships, in the fields of machine learning and backend development to get a feel of the kind of work people do in these fields.Once I completed my undergrad, I flew across the world, to Troy in the state of New York to pursue my master\'s degree in Computer Science at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This experience has taught me many things including how to live on my own. At RPI I got to study a variety of challenging courses like Data mining, Computer Vision, Parallel computing, Design and Analysis of Algorithms. My experience with these courses taught me how to quickly adapt to the syllabus and learn the programming languages and technologies for the assignments. This ability to quickly learn new skills will be useful.I also got to work as a Teaching Assistant. This has greatly improved my communication skills and my ability to explain complex topics in simple words. To summarize, I am passionate about Computer Science and would really like to pursue a career in it. After studying about the different fields in Computer Science, I have been able to zero in on what really interests me: Fullstack Development.
