About Harsha Lakshmankumar
I am a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, with a degree in Biological Sciences concentrating in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I have always been enthralled by the power biology has to effect positive change in the world. At Cal Poly, I collaborated on a bioinformatics research team utilizing neural networks to enhance breast cancer subtyping. Subsequently, I joined a microbiology research team working on characterizing a plastic-degrading strain of bacteria. After graduation I joined Pivot Bio as an intern, where we strove to lessen the deleterious effects synthetic fertilizers have on the environment by harnessing the power of bacteria. I am now an Associate Scientist for Vaxcyte on the Immunoassay team, aiding in the development of vaccines for dangerous bacterial infections.
