I transitioned into construction management after 13 years in estate agency, bringing strong organisational and client-facing skills into a new career. Starting as a handyman with Atkins Project Management, I quickly proved my transferable skills and was given the opportunity to step into site management.My first major responsibility was taking over the close-out of a large renovation and extension to a period property in Buckland Common. With the previous manager leaving at short notice, I reorganised the site, coordinated trades, and ensured the project was completed efficiently and to a high standard, earning praise from the client.For the past year, I have managed the construction of Willow House in Chorleywood — a sq. ft. eco-home designed by award-winning architects Kirkland Fraser Moor. Built using Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF), the project includes a 2,500 sq. ft. basement, swimming pool, cinema, gym, sauna, and six ensuite bedrooms.The build combined luxury finishes with advanced technologies such as solar panels with battery storage, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, MVHR, smart home systems, high-performance glazing, and EV charging. Architectural features included a sedum green roof, corten steel panelling, microcement bathrooms, polished concrete floors, a bespoke floating staircase with hand-finished oak treads, a resin and block paved driveway, and an extensive porcelain patio with integrated sunken seating and lighting.As site manager, I was responsible for programming, coordinating specialist contractors, managing health & safety, and delivering complex packages from structural works through to final finishes. I am passionate about high-quality, sustainable construction and thrive on bringing together people, processes, and technology to deliver projects that exceed expectations.
