Responsibilities include coordination of market risk management framework through enterprise Asset / Liability Committee; implementation of market risk policies and limit structures for interest rate risk, equity risk, and currency risk exposures; advancement of tools and analytics used to manage risk profile, including VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis; development and execution of hedging strategies to manage risk profile; communication of risk management effectiveness to senior management, rating agencies, and regulators. Lead development and implementation of investment strategies and associated asset/liability management initiatives for $80 billion General Account portfolios of The Hartford. Establishes and maintains asset allocation and duration targets and limits for portfolio groups, appropriately balancing risk, return, income, capital and liquidity considerations. Implementation and oversight of liability risk hedging initiatives, ensuring enterprise risk profile remains within desired risk tolerance.
