ABOUT HARRY LONGHURST

I’m currently studying Fashion Buying & Merchandising at London College of Fashion, UAL.As part of my recent university unit, I completed a 6-week placement at Lipsy as a Merchandise Assistant, working within the Girlswear and Women\'s Event Dresses B&M team. I supported the team in managing the critical path, monitoring stock intake, attending range selection and product sign-off meetings, and gaining insight into forecasting and trading performance analysis.Prior to this, I worked on a university project with NEXT, where I traded their Men’s Tailoring AW24 range and proposed a strategy for the AW25 range. This involved analysing trends, reviewing sales history, and targeting a new customer market. My report was awarded an A+ for its strong communication of ideas through data-driven initiatives and research.Alongside university, I’ve worked as a Sales Manager at NEXT for the past three years, across two stores. This role has developed my leadership, commercial awareness, and visual merchandising skills. I’ve also supported senior management with recruitment, onboarding and training, and led key retail events such as stocktakes, sale launches, and phase changes.This summer, I’m excited to take the next step in my career as I join Next Head Office as a Trainee Merchandiser for my placement year.
