ABOUT HARRY HARTMANN
Musician. Inventor. Visionary.I am Harry Hartmann, a saxophonist and innovator driven by the harmony of sound and material. Since 1976, my life has been shaped by music—and since 1982, it has been my profession. While performing across jazz, Latin, blues, and classical genres, I sought a solution to the limitations of natural cane reeds. That curiosity sparked years of material research and experimentation, culminating in the invention of Fiberreed—a revolutionary synthetic reed made of Hollow Fiber Foamresin Compound (HFC). By emulating the natural structure of Arundo Donax with advanced composites, I was able to create a reed that offers superior sound, longevity, hygiene, and playability.Today, I continue to explore the cutting edge—building carbon fiber kiteboards, designing mute trumpets, and performing with ensembles like Caballo Negro, Los del Campo, and a local blues band.
