ABOUT HARRY CONSTANTINOU

I\'m a first year undergraduate Engineering Geology and Geotechnics student at the Camborne school of mines, based at the university of Exeter, Cornwall campus in Penryn. I have a strong interest in igneous petrology and resource exploration, which is one of the main reasons I chose to study at Exeter’s Cornwall campus, known for its underlying granite geology, rich mining history, and the international reputation of the Camborne School of Mines.During my A Levels (including Geology), I had the opportunity to visit the Isle of Arran on a field trip, where I explored evidence of past tectonic activity linked to the Caledonian and Grampian orogenies. I particularly enjoyed seeing real life examples of textbook features such as rip-up clasts and columnar jointing, which deepened my interest in geological processes.Right now, I’m especially drawn to the mining and engineering geology sectors. I’m passionate about being outdoors and understanding how landscapes form, something that fits naturally with my love of fieldwork and hiking. My experience as a Scout Leader reflects this passion and has further developed my teamwork and leadership skills.Looking ahead, I hope to take part in multiple field trips and gain hands on experience through summer placements, helping me shape a clearer path within the geoscience field.I\'m always happy to connect with others in the geoscience, mining, and environmental sectors.
