Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Preventive Family Team Conferencing. OPFTC oversees the Family Team Conference (FTC) program which is aimed at improving critical decision making regarding children’s safety, permanency and well-being. The Office works closely with our provider agencies, families, extended families, and community-based providers to improve cooperation, communication, and teamwork and ensure that important child welfare decisions are explored and made in Family Team Conferences. In addition, OPFTC facilitates Elevated Risk Conferences for families involved with a community-based preventive services provider. Prior to his assignment as the Acting Director, Harry was the Brooklyn South Preventive Family Team Conferencing Manager, a position he held for five years. Harry’s Civil Service record spans over three decades. He joined ACS as a CPS worker in 1986 in the Brooklyn Field Office. He is especially proud of his long service as an ACS Manager for the past 19 years
