ABOUT HARRISON MORRIS

I\'ve been fortunate to work with incredible brains from many fields, learning from both industry giants and small teams. Quant. I am an experienced quant researcher, comfortable challenging briefs, and building research approaches that hit objectives. I have been lucky to work for a small, senior agency where I have developed from a researcher into a research consultant. I advise on approaches, then manage large research studies from brief to final recommendations. Strategy. I spent years at Kantar learning brand strategy from Needscope experts. How branding influences people has always fascinated me; it constantly surprises me how much of branding is simply down to creating a brand as if you were building a person from scratch. This experience has served me well, often in unexpected places. While I ran a cocktail bar for a few years, I could test it first hand to influence how guests saw and understood what we were trying to offer. In my current role, offer a brand perspective in many briefings and workshop sessions. Conversation. Any bartender will tell you, running the bar quickly teaches you how to hold conversation, especially when you don\'t want one. It taught me everyone has something interesting to talk about, you just need to find it. This has really helped me in the qual side of research. I\'ve honed my skills for a more corporate audience, but much of the same rules apply even when talking to senior leaders. Storytelling. I\'m hesitant to brag about my incredible writing skills after you\'ve already 3 paragraphs in. But for someone who hated English at school, I\'m proud to say I\'ve gotten quite good at telling stories from data. My late blooming has instilled a respect for the way language impacts how an idea is communicated. The words you choose are just as important in an internal email, as they are in, say a self-glorifying LinkedIn summary. Data. At my core, I\'m a quant researcher. I am familiar with statistical analysis on platforms like Q and SPSS, and am capable of using javascript, R, and Python for more custom analysis. AI has been a huge leap in my learning here, and I have used it to develop my coding output. I now regularly build little tools to help complete tasks. In 2024 I was nominated for an ESOAMR award, and presented an open-end coding tool in Athens. Outside of work, I love sports - badminton/football, I\'m an advanced scuba diver, and experienced skier and snowboarder. I love to travel, pick up languages, food, and culture. I also read a lot, normally finding an idea I like, then picking up a book that goes deep.
