About Harrison Leggate
Harrison Leggate is a rising third year law student at the University of Mississippi School of Law, concentrating on business law. Prior to law school he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the University in Oklahoma. During his undergraduate studies, Harrison volunteered on Congressman Kevin Brady\'s reelection campaign. Additionally, he worked as a Policy Intern for Cornerstone Government Affairs, covering House and Senate Committee hearings on topics primarily pertaining to the energy industry, and drafting client memoranda for domestic and international clients. Following his first year of law school, Harrison worked as a Commercial, Finance, and Securities litigation intern at Valero Energy\'s San Antonio headquarters, focusing his research on CERCLA and RCRA applications as they relate to PFAS and LNAPL. While at Valero, Harrison conducted a nationwide survey of price discrimination statutes which he presented to the commodities traders, conducted research on a first-of-its-kind $51.5 billion lawsuit, and assisted in a presentation to the corporate board of directors. After his second year of law school, Harrison worked as a Law Clerk at Kaster, Lynch, Farrar & Ball, the nation\'s preeminent tire defect and failure law firm. During his time at KLFB, Harrison gained experience drafting and filing pleadings and responses in high-value lawsuits, and was fortunate to see the firm\'s top tier attorneys in action during depositions, hearings, and at trial. While in law school, Harrison has served as the Executive Editor of the Mississippi Sports Law Review, the Director of Development and Alumni for the Student Government, and the Treasurer of the Federalist Society. He is also a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Additionally, Harrison and his partner competed in the Inter-Professional Education Board\'s Mock Trial Competition, winning all jury verdicts, and earning the award for Best Answer. Following graduation in May of 2025, Harrison hopes to establish a career within the energy or aerospace industry, either on the litigation or regulatory/policy side.
