Some priorities include— improving the commonwealth’s health professions pipeline; advisory and oversight of Virginia’s eight Area Health Education Centers; informing state and local policy regarding health care delivery, training, and education; promoting evidence-based strategies for health workforce pathways, particularly in rural and underserved area if the commonwealth; advocating for programs that result in reducing the debt load of newly trained health professionals; develop strategies to increase diversity in the health workforce; identifying ways to leverage technology to increase access to health workforce training and health care delivery.
