About Harrison Burns

As an engineering at SpaceX, I was working on the Space Lasers Team for Starlink, a project that aims to provide high-speed internet access across the globe. I am involved in various aspects of the development and testing of high-power EDFA\'s for intersatellite communications, such as heading the qualification campaign for passive optical components, developing a photonic testing station for acceptance testing on the production line, and performing fiber splice optimization on critical splices. I am also a student at Rowan University, where I am pursuing a dual degree in electrical and computer engineering and physics, with a certificate in photonics. I have a strong interest in the fields of optics, lasers, and fiber communications, and I have gained valuable experience as an undergraduate researcher and a system engineering intern at Lockheed Martin. Through these opportunities, I have contributed to the technical analysis of the directed energy supply chain, the standardization of the fiber laser amplifier interface, and the integration and test of the Space Fence project. I am eager to learn more and apply my skills and knowledge to innovative and challenging projects in the aerospace industry.
