ABOUT HARRIET BRANSON
I am a Technical Specialist in Remote Sensing & GIS at Fauna & Flora. I specialise in advanced remote sensing (both optical and radar), spatial analysis, and habitat modelling. I am proficient in Python, SQL, and an advanced user of Google Earth Engine for several analyses and data management. With many years of field experience across a number of habitats and social contexts in South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia, I bring a strong understanding about linking technology with on-the-ground practicality for conservation. Over my time at Fauna & Flora, I have worked closely with businesses to create bespoke methodologies, pilot global frameworks, and deliver outputs to measure, monitor, and achieve their commitments to biodiversity and nature. Within this, I focus on the strategic development of technology in the conservation sector at Fauna & Flora, including topics such as AI, eDNA, and GIS.I also have a First Class BSc in Geography from the University of Sheffield and a Distinction in MSc in Earth Observation and Geoinformation Management from the University of Edinburgh.
