ABOUT HARRIET AYLIFFE

I’m a strategist, facilitator, community organiser and bridge-builder focused on working with communities and places to build inner and outer resilience to the metacrisis. My work spans climate action, food growing, nature connection, inner transformation and cultural repair. I weave together strategy, communications, funding, partnerships, facilitation and project management.My path began in sustainability consultancy, working with corporates on environmental and social impact strategies. Despite good intentions, I saw the limits of incremental change to business-as-usual and top-down strategies and the need to address the deeper cultural and relational patterns driving today’s crises. This shaped a shift toward community-led change, where I found more grounded and hopeful forms of transformation.Since, I’ve focused on community-led and place-based initiatives and building bridges across sectors—supporting Common’s UK ecosystem of community-led land stewardship projects, running a CIC community garden and learning space, advising on and shaping the impact of a climate activism film, co-founding a Transition Town group, and contributing to MovingBeyond’s gatherings for systemic change.Across all of this, I’ve become deeply interested in how our inner worlds shape - and if not attended to exacerbate - the crises we face. I’ve seen burnout, overwhelm, unattended grief and unhelpful power dynamics undermine change-making groups and organisations across both community and business settings. For me,\'inner work\' is so important to create healthier relationships with ourselves, each other and the more-than-human world. This growing understanding has deepened my commitment to \'inner work\' practices that explore the relational, cultural, political and ecological dimensions of how we live and act together.My strengths blend- Strategic and systemic thinking- Workshop design and group facilitation, deepening my learning in trauma-attuned facilitation- Connecting people, initiatives and networks- Practical delivery and laying strong foundations - Translating across perspectives and sectors- Relationship-building and cultivating healthy relational group culturesI\'m currently on Starter Culture’s As Things Fall Apart Fellowship, deepening my inquiry into inner-led, earth-centred cultural regeneration.Open to collaborations and roles that centre community resilience, cultural repair and the weaving of inner and outer responses to the metacrisis.
