ABOUT HAROLD PEREVERSEFF
Career Civil Servant with the Canadian Federal Government. Recently retired (2011) after a 37 year tenure. Shortly after retiring, it was back to work and this took the form of Security Guard at various posts both in Lethbridge and outside. In 2020 I began contracting for the Federal Government with Statistics Canada. Contracting was interesting and involved partnerships with various Federal Departments/Agencies. Deployments to various places in Canada including Saint John’s Newfoundland, Prince George, BC, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Surrey, Abbotsford and Chilliwack, BC. These deployments continue as of March, 2025. I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm. In 1974, at the age of 18, I began working with the Federal Government as a Letter Carrier with Canada Post. I was also married to the love of my life, Cheryl, in 1974. In 1978 I began working as a Customs Officer at Carievale, Saskatchewan. In 1981, I was promoted to Customs Superintendent at Coutts, Alberta. In 1987, I was promoted to Customs Senior Officer/Superintendent and we relocated to Lethbridge. I worked at the Lethbridge Customs Office until it closed in 1996. I began working with the Canada Revenue Agency as a compliance, collections and enforcement agent. I was promoted to a \"Field Officer\" the position of which I retired from in 2011. When I retired, there was no question in our minds, we would retire in our beautiful community, Lethbridge. We began planning and built our dream \"retirement\" home in Riverstone, West Lethbridge. Raising our family in Lethbridge was ideal. We utilized the swimming pools, ice areas, library, parks. Most part of my working period in Lethbridge, I rode the bus to and from work.
