I’m Harnoor Parmar, an engineer turned Java developer, now pursuing a Master’s in Information Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon University. My journey from engineering to coding at BlackRock taught me the power of blending technical skills with business acumen. During my two years at BlackRock, I tackled complex challenges, wrote impactful code, and witnessed firsthand how technology can drive business success at scale. I worked on backend servers that automated the production cycles, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency across the board. Collaborating with stakeholders was essential, not just to ensure our technical solutions aligned with business needs, but also to set shared goals and priorities. By building strong relationships, keeping lines of communication open, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, I gained deeper insights into the business requirements.
