ABOUT HARMEET CHANA

After undergraduate medical training at the University of Cambridge and University College London, I obtained FRCR in 2013 and completed training at the LNWUH NHS Trust Radiology scheme. I am currently lead for CT at the Trust and within NWL, as well as co-chairing the NWL Cardiac Imaging group while participating in other sector-level groups. Locally, I have previously held lead roles for cardiac and thoracic radiology and was appointed as deputy Clinical Director for Radiology for four years.With subspecialty cardiac and thoracic imaging training at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals, Imperial Hospital and LNWUH, I was appointed as a consultant cardiothoracic radiologist at LNWUH in 2015. I have continued to develop my own clinical expertise in advanced chest and heart imaging and have achieved level 3 accreditation in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. Alongside contributing to the establishment of the cardiac CT and cardiac MRI services within the hospital, I regularly teach within the hospital and on external courses. I have had extensive exposure to the full remit of managerial experiences in the NHS including service establishment, service development/optimisation, protocol and guideline composition, asset procurement, numerous business cases, recruitment, staff management, crisis management and AI. With strong technical fundamentals, I have a detailed understanding of processes, software - including development aspects, hardware and associated elements of implementation. Interested in artificial intelligence as an adjunct to healthcare provision and logistics and have represented my hospital Trust in procurement and implementation of an AI solution In parallel and independently from my NHS work I set up and managed a covid-19 vaccination centre in 2021 having seen over patients including management of all aspects spanning from contracts and budgets to clinical vaccination training.
