ABOUT HARITHA YESPAL SUBHA
I am a PhD research scholar in Chemical Oceanography at Institute of Marine Science, UQAR focusing on the contamination of emerging pollutants like microplastics and associated chemicals in the St. Lawrence ecosystem. My research explores the fate, behaviour, and toxicity of these pollutants and their impacts on the air and water. I had participated in sailing expeditions in the Indian & Arctic Ocean, and conducted field trips in estuaries, rivers, and fjords, where I collected and analyzed water and sediment samples to identify pollutants and assess environmental impacts. I am proficient in advanced analytical techniques, such as FTIR, Raman, Uv-Vis,ICP-OES, AAS, and GC-MS/MS.
